LAND USE PLANNING

Objectives:
The objective of this course is to introduce the Geomatics Engineering students with the specialized knowledge on Land use planning. The overall course is designed to make the students able to learn and understand the theory of land use planning and acquainted with the real problems in Land used planning.

  3. Elements of an Implementation-Orientated Planning Process (6 hours)

    4. The Mandate for Planning and the Agencies
    5. Drawing up Plans

  7. Experience of Land Used Planning (6 hours)
    1. Historical and present aspects of Land Used in Asia
    2. Institutional Aspects of LUP in Sri-Lanka, Land used problem
    3. Land Used policy and National land used policy of Nepal
    4. Urban Reform and Development of Nepal

Practical and Tutorials:
The students will have one day field exercises which make take place off campus and submit their report.
The students have to present on different land use planning issues in a seminar Organized by Geomatic department of campus and submit the report.

Evaluation scheme:
The question will cover the entire chapter in the syllabus. The evaluation scheme will be as mentioned in the table below
